Sears Spring Launch

Image
Sears Canada has already started it's reinvention with a new modern logo and store makeovers. This Spring they are launching the new ' Sears Label '  for men, women, children and home. On April 1, 2017 Sears will also be launching a new off-price concept called 'The Cut' , which is focused on selling off-price designer home and fashion brands for 30% - 60% off. This concept reminds me of Winners/Home Sense, as I found some higher end brands like Versace, Gucci, U.S Polo and Tom Ford on their new site.   I was invited to preview Sears Spring 17 at a fantastic Whiskey Bar/Restaurant called One18Empire in Calgary. I was pleasantly surprised by the urban styles and fun fabrics which a wide range of women can enjoy. All of the pieces are on trend with this seasons vibrant colours/prints and are very budget friendly. I am looking forward to seeing what else the Sears revamp brings to the Canadian retail market. Check back to see which pieces I style from this colle

It can become easy to lose track of time and forget to take a moment out to enjoy the beautiful world around us. In today's world filled with the constant consumption of media and technology, it seems people have forgotten the true value of time. Our time on this earth is precious, as every second is a gift and must not be wasted. What we choose to do with our time is your own prerogative, however, it is my belief that we all need to take a step back and put aside some time to learn more about ourselves through adventure, whether it be going on a walk through your local neighborhood or opting to travel the globe, striv

As florals make their annual visit off the runway and into our closets, we are going to be seeing a big 70's and 90's comeback. Personally, I am drawn to big, bold abstract florals over Laura Ashley style micro-florals. As popular as the 70's are this season, there are also various design houses who executed stunning contemporary florals that make a big statement. Lanvin, Roksanda, Marni and Dries Van Noten created edgy collections playing with large scale and contrasting colours. Some of my fave SS 17 R-T-W looks came from Dries Van Noten's show. I love the looks with solid backgrounds and bursts of vibrant flowers.  Modern florals are so  ch

Fun fact about me: I do not have any tattoos. It is not that I don’t like them, I appreciate the art and sentiment behind them. I have prevented  myself  from getting them as I know that once I start, I won’t stop! I love the look of sleeves, so I would for sure get one or both arms done. In the meantime, I am enjoying the art of temporary Henna tattoos.  I think it would be a good idea to have it done in a similar design and scale before actually going forward with a permanent tattoo.  As many of you know, I have had Henna done a few times now (including by a gypsy at a market in Spain) and enjoy the process from choosing the design to rocking the ethnic vibe. With each blend being slightly different and the prep effecting the final outcome, you will get a slightly different result each time. I recently collaborated with a local Henna artist who not only is a very skilled freehand artist, but she also makes her own Henna from scratch, using only the most natural ingredients. I
