Spring Style with LC Apparel Co.

Image
As the world reopens, it's time to transition cozy WFH styles into upgraded day-to-dinner looks for Spring/Summer 22. Comfort and simplicity are essential but need to be elevated as we ease back into the groove of in-person meetings, dinners, and events. One of the most important elements in creating comfortable, effortless looks is to curate a capsule wardrobe. Selecting garments that are made with soft textures, loose silhouettes, or stretchy fabrics helps us look and feel good. Capsule wardrobes save time, and energy and are a great way to look current without constantly feeling like you need an overhaul. With a few current pieces, we can mix and match, and add trendy colors and accessories with minimal effort. I love that all of these pieces look fresh, but could be worn in any season. They are basics with a twist, so you don't have to worry about getting tired of them. I've partnered with LC Apparel Co., a local Toronto boutique to share some of my must-haves for Sprin...

SUSTAINABLE FOOTWEAR FEATURING VIVAIA

Image
Building a sustainable wardrobe can mean a lot of different things. For me, it's being conscious of what I buy, making sure I can say "I love this" before clicking add to cart or going to a checkout counter. I have taught myself to visualize my wardrobe and think about what pieces are missing and what can be worn with a variety of pieces that I already own. I'm always on the search for companies that are on the leading edge, doing their part to cut back on emissions and making a difference. Doing the research to educate yourself is key because a lot of brands don't share a lot about their business practices in their ads.  There are a variety of other tips that I have to be more conscious when it comes to fashion, style, and other aspects of my lifestyle, but I'll save that for another post.    It's unfortunately not easy to find a lot of sustainable and eco-friendly brands at affordable price points, however, there are some companies that are making wave...

Birthday Spa Day With Mix Beauty Lab in Toronto

Image
⁣ With my bday trip canceled due to Covid19, I wanted a little TLC here in Toronto. I decided to have some pampering at Mix Beauty Lab on my birthday, which also happened to be the last day before social distancing was in full effect in Canada. ⁣⁣⁣ After reading great things about Mix Beauty Lab , I knew it was the perfect place to go. They are a spa that specializes in facials, brows, hair removal, sunless tans, makeup, lashes, and nails - I could spend all day! ⁣ ⁣⁣ The first thing I had done was a brow session. I’d been growing my brows out with Briogeo 100% Caster Oil , and wanted to get them groomed before trying tinting, etc.  I had Eyebrow Threading for the first time and was amazed by how quick and painless it was. I have super sensitive skin, so I have avoided waxing and threading, but it definitely worked well with a little redness that quickly disappeared. I also got a little trim and tried their Mix Brow Fix Gel which is a tinted formula th...

Sustainable Pantyhose With Sheertex

Image
I love wearing pantyhose all year round. Whether I'm rocking fun colors and designs, classic blacks or nudes, it's always practical and adds some fun when styling a look.  During the fall and winter months, I typically go through fifteen pairs per season. I constantly worry about snagging them and actually carry a bottle of clear nail polish around with me to help prevent any potential hole[s] from creating a run down my leg *embarrassing*. Those days are over now thanks to Sheertex.  I heard about Sheertex, a Canadian brand that specializes in pantyhose, back in the fall and was instantly intrigued. I love that they design AND manufacture right here in Canada [they are based in Montreal]. After taking a look at their site, I was impressed by the reviews, sizing, color and style options to choose from and knew I wanted to partner with them.  When I received my order, it arrived with a testing kit to try to stretch, break, snag, etc. as their cla...
