Stampede Chic

shop the look  top: Crystal Siemens skirt: H&M   boots: Aldo   necklace: InnerWolf Jewelry  boot bracelet: Yoshi-Bella  belt: MaxMara sunnies: Mars Quest  Stampede is the biggest party in Calgary... or arguably Canada, with mayhem taking over the city for 10 days straight. It is a time for every man, woman and child to embrace our cowboy culture and (hopefully) a lot of summer sunshine.  This year i'm moving away from the cliche plaid and denim and put together a neutral look. As khaki is a huge trend for S/S 17, I wanted to show how styling an all nude/khaki look can can have a western vibe. The always chic neutral colour palette looks great with denim and a pair of leather cowboy boots. A solid fabric allows you to have fun with accessorizing; a large belt buckle, fringed everything or a little bling. I finished off this look with a Boot Bracelet by Y...

That's a Wrap

details II Coat: SheIn  I  Top: Top Shop  I  Jeans: Denim Supply Ralph Lauren  I  Belt: Gucci   I Boots: Bebe   I  Clutch:  Michael Kors  I  Sunnies: New Look (UK)   Flowy and soft, the wrap coat silhouette creates a laid back yet very chic look for any occasion. A cozy, mid-length hemline and cascading revers provide a comfortable, warm layering option as we move into Spring.  This classic style isn't going anywhere, so i've put together some tips for working a wrap coat into your wardrobe.  1 I The length - The best part about a Wrap Coat is that it is easy to find one that fits just about any size or body type. Wrap silhouettes are one of the most flattering, only the hemline and sleeve length need to fall in the right place.  The hem length should be in proportion with your height and can easily be altered if need be. Lavender in the Country

Many of my childhood and adolescent memories are from spending time in a (very) small town in Saskatchewan, Canada. I love the freedom of the country and learning about animals and vegetation. Of course having access to organic food is always a plus. Riding horses and playing with dogs and...

Top 14 Places in 2014

Image
As I looked at my travel albums from the past year, many memories went through my head. Some cities I had been to before, and others I found beauty in for the first time. Many flights, road trips and moves occurred in the past year. One of the craziest trips was driving from Ontario to Alberta, it took us three days to just cross the Ontario boarder! The drive along Lake Superior was gorgeous, and filled with a variety of wildlife, including a massive black bear that nearly took us out.   England always fascinates me with old architecture and the variety of accents depending on which city/town you are in. I am ending the year spending time in London and Paris,  and will be starting 2015 off right, in Paris!  The following photos are some of my favourites from 2014. Looking forward to crossing more places off my bucket list next year!  OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, USA WICHITA, KS, USA WINDSOR, ONTARIO, CANADA ...

Bring on the New Year

A Skater skirt is a great style that can be mixed with several pieces. With the volume of the skirt, it looks best with a fitted top and a clean lined waist length jacket or long coat.  If you wear plan to wear a glitzy sequinned look for NYE, pair simple accessories that aren't too flashy to balance your look. If you are wearing solid fabrics like this one, pair with an alluring statement piece. Remember to keep the neckline in mind when pairing earrin...

I  wanted to shoot Century Gardens (in Calgary, AB) before the city begins the planned redevelopment.  We have seen the leather or faux leather mixed with knits look for many seasons, and it is back again. As many of your know I love mixing materials to add texture to any look. This cardigan has full leather sleeves that creates an edge to anything paired with it.  When purch...
