Winter has felt more like spring here in England. I was preparing for a lot of rain and some snow, as I was warned by locals that this was going to be "the worst winter in decades". Vibrant green grass, flowers and temperatures above zero degrees make me feel like I'm back in Vancouver, minus all the the rain! The dry mild weather has been great for wearing spring clothes all winter long.
This layered look includes three bold patterns mixed with solids to create balance. Spring is the perfect time of year for adding bold pattern to workwear or casual looks. Stripes and animal patterns are both classics for spring, so I decided to layer them to create an interesting contrast. The micro houndstooth pattern on the Komono watch finishes off the look with another variation of pattern.
This striped crew neck top by Theory is a great layering piece. The cropped body and sleeves work well in spring/summer worn casually with pants or a skirt. It also looks great layered for cooler weather. Classic pieces that can be worn all year round are great investment pieces to add into your wardrobe. Remember to look at the material content when purchasing these pieces as natural materials will be easier to wash/stay fresh as they breathe better.
Spring is about renewing yourself, make a statement with bold patterns this season.
