Top 15 Cities of 2015

Image
It feels like just yesterday I was ringing in the New Year with a bottle of Champagne under the sparkling lights of the Eiffel Tower. 2015 has flown by, and I was blessed to be able to knock quite a few cities off my travel list. My number one highlight would have to be my month spent amongst the stunning scenery, architecture, delicious food and, of course, the shopping in Italy. If you haven't already been, you must go!  #1 - Venice, Italy  Despite several individuals suggesting that Venice is a "dirty" city, I found it to be quite the contrary. Venice is hands down one of the most unique cities in the world. There are very few cars, as there are canals on every block, with walking bridges curving over them for gondolas and boats to travel underneath. There is nothing else like gliding down Canals with a gondola driver joyfully singing Italian songs....

Mixing Textures for Fall

This look is comprised of my five fave fall staples:  THE LONGLINE CARDIGAN  Longline Cardigans and Jackets are everywhere this fall. It is important to mix the lengths of pieces, so they do not all end up at the same length, visually cutting your body.  For a longer, leaner look, try pieces underneath that fall either above your knee, or at the ankle. If the longer piece is structured, pair relaxed pieces with it. If the jacket is loose or oversized, pair fitted, or structured pieces underneat...

Bringing Nature Indoors

Image
Photography by: Style Concept - Design by HDA and Style Concept  There are many creative inspirations that we inherently take from nature, such as finding originality in the natural colours, textures, and shapes that surround us, as these elements are routinely reflected in creative initiatives including design, fashion and architecture.   Incorporating nature into your home, is all about finding which elements you have a connection with. Pieces that bring out personal emotions are key for establishing a relaxing and balanced environment.  Natural elements like cotton, wood and leather can help establish  your personal style and will help create a warm and welcoming a mbience  within your  home. This nature inspired project reflects on the home's natural surroundings, as the views from the large windows provide a great landscaping background which includes a varie...
