I am a sucker for statement pieces; rings, shoes, necklaces etc. I have been on the lookout  for a piece that makes a sparkly statement without being too gaudy, as I usually go for subtle finishes and neutral stone pieces. When I found this necklace by Mirina Collections, I fell in love. It reminded me of armour... glamorous body armour. 

Mirina Collections jewelry is hand made from start to finish in Manhattan, New York, USA. Each design is made to order, so it may take a few weeks to receive, but it is worth the wait! I am all about appreciating local craftsmanship, for higher quality and uniqueness, as no two pieces are exactly the same. 

I am wearing the "Max" collar, it is perfect for smaller frames, as its size and stone proportions are not overwhelming. It has several length options, so it works great with a variety of necklines. I paired it with a fun fur vest to mix textures, the sparkle against the high pile vest creates a cozy look that can be worn from day to dinner. 
The weight of the necklace is not too heavy, yet not super light, like mass produced fashion jewelry. It sits comfortably, and shine beautifully.

It is important to hang statement pieces in the right area of the décolletage, depending on if the neckline of clothing is high, low or wide. Play around with the length, so it is complimentary, not competing with the neckline. 
Minimize other jewelry including earrings, as the focus should be on the necklace.
