Spring Style with LC Apparel Co.

Image
As the world reopens, it's time to transition cozy WFH styles into upgraded day-to-dinner looks for Spring/Summer 22. Comfort and simplicity are essential but need to be elevated as we ease back into the groove of in-person meetings, dinners, and events. One of the most important elements in creating comfortable, effortless looks is to curate a capsule wardrobe. Selecting garments that are made with soft textures, loose silhouettes, or stretchy fabrics helps us look and feel good. Capsule wardrobes save time, and energy and are a great way to look current without constantly feeling like you need an overhaul. With a few current pieces, we can mix and match, and add trendy colors and accessories with minimal effort. I love that all of these pieces look fresh, but could be worn in any season. They are basics with a twist, so you don't have to worry about getting tired of them. I've partnered with LC Apparel Co., a local Toronto boutique to share some of my must-haves for Sprin...

SUSTAINABLE FOOTWEAR FEATURING VIVAIA

Image
Building a sustainable wardrobe can mean a lot of different things. For me, it's being conscious of what I buy, making sure I can say "I love this" before clicking add to cart or going to a checkout counter. I have taught myself to visualize my wardrobe and think about what pieces are missing and what can be worn with a variety of pieces that I already own. I'm always on the search for companies that are on the leading edge, doing their part to cut back on emissions and making a difference. Doing the research to educate yourself is key because a lot of brands don't share a lot about their business practices in their ads.  There are a variety of other tips that I have to be more conscious when it comes to fashion, style, and other aspects of my lifestyle, but I'll save that for another post.    It's unfortunately not easy to find a lot of sustainable and eco-friendly brands at affordable price points, however, there are some companies that are making wave...

The Artistic and Delicious WINDS Series by Alvento Winery

Image
Summer is finally here and that means you can find me at a beach!  One of my favourite things about living in Downtown Toronto is how easy it is to walk down to Sugar Beach with a box full of charcuterie and a delicious bottle of wine to watch the sunset over the city skyline.  I've been loving Alvento Winery's WIND series and have partnered with them to share the new collection!  Alvento Winery is located in Vineland, near the waterfront of Lake Ontario in Canada.  The 13-acre vineyard is owned by local peach agriculturalists - the Zhang's family who dreamed of running a winery in the region.  They create small-batch wines that are crafted from established vines that offer quality fruit with subtle complexities.  The owners are inspired by the English translation of Alvento, meaning; "At the Wind" and are focusing on wine styles that are refreshing and aromatic.   Alvento believes that we are all connected to the primal forces that live in expression...

GREEK TRAVEL ITINERARY FEAT. MONOS LUGGAGE

Image
Throughout our time living abroad in Europe, David and I had many opportunities to visit Greece. We ultimately decided to save Greece for our honeymoon, and we’re really happy that we did, as it truly is the most romantic place we’ve visited! The beautiful sunset views, unique daily excursions, and fresh cuisine make for the perfect place to celebrate love. David and I are always traveling, and one thing we have learned while traveling throughout Europe is to pack light because it’s not like North America where there are paved roads and large spaces to walk - this is especially true in Greece. The local landscape is much different from anything we had previously experienced; having to navigate the narrow streets of Mykonos, and the winding cliffside paths to our hotel in Santorini, convinced us to maximize our packing by splitting one large suitcase and two carry-on sized roller bags from Monos , and they were perfect for our month-long adventure. We like to immerse ourselves ...

Birthday Spa Day With Mix Beauty Lab in Toronto

Image
⁣ With my bday trip canceled due to Covid19, I wanted a little TLC here in Toronto. I decided to have some pampering at Mix Beauty Lab on my birthday, which also happened to be the last day before social distancing was in full effect in Canada. ⁣⁣⁣ After reading great things about Mix Beauty Lab , I knew it was the perfect place to go. They are a spa that specializes in facials, brows, hair removal, sunless tans, makeup, lashes, and nails - I could spend all day! ⁣ ⁣⁣ The first thing I had done was a brow session. I’d been growing my brows out with Briogeo 100% Caster Oil , and wanted to get them groomed before trying tinting, etc.  I had Eyebrow Threading for the first time and was amazed by how quick and painless it was. I have super sensitive skin, so I have avoided waxing and threading, but it definitely worked well with a little redness that quickly disappeared. I also got a little trim and tried their Mix Brow Fix Gel which is a tinted formula th...

Sustainable Pantyhose With Sheertex

Image
I love wearing pantyhose all year round. Whether I'm rocking fun colors and designs, classic blacks or nudes, it's always practical and adds some fun when styling a look.  During the fall and winter months, I typically go through fifteen pairs per season. I constantly worry about snagging them and actually carry a bottle of clear nail polish around with me to help prevent any potential hole[s] from creating a run down my leg *embarrassing*. Those days are over now thanks to Sheertex.  I heard about Sheertex, a Canadian brand that specializes in pantyhose, back in the fall and was instantly intrigued. I love that they design AND manufacture right here in Canada [they are based in Montreal]. After taking a look at their site, I was impressed by the reviews, sizing, color and style options to choose from and knew I wanted to partner with them.  When I received my order, it arrived with a testing kit to try to stretch, break, snag, etc. as their cla...
