It feels good to be back in Calgary, I always appreciate breathing in the fresh mountain air as I walk off the plane. It is definitely noticeable coming from Europe and even the US. Calgary has always been known for being a Nature city; Panoramic Mountain views, Provincial Parks running through the city, Lake communities and an abundance of mature trees spread across the city. With all the interesting architecture and sculptures that have been accumulating in the last couple years, Calgary is becoming a city of Nature and Art.
It is cool to walk around downtown and see art installations and innovative bridges. This bridge was re built this year after it was washed away in the 2013 flood. The pedestrian bridge designed by Paris based architectural firm, RFR joins Bridgeland and East Village. A newly designed St.Patricks Island Park (located beside it) is to be opened this summer. The bridge is known as "The skipping stone bridge" as it's sleek curved design looks like a stone being skipped across the river.

We see architecture in fashion, furniture, design, infrastructure - it is everywhere.
When choosing locations to shoot, I always think about what clothing style would make sense or compliment the area.  Like this bridge, this Alexander Wang dress encompasses many lines, details and structure. It is defined, yet versatile. Dresses like this can be worn with tops underneath for fall/winter/spring as I did here, or simply as a dress for summer. It also works great with blazer with clean lines layered over top for work or cool summer nights.

This S/S is all about bringing back the 70's. The chunky heel is 70's inspired and is great for many women as they are more comfortable/easier to walk in all day than a stiletto heel. Animal prints are a Spring classic, it is a fun way to add pattern to any look. These calf hair dyed zebra stripe pumps are classy and flattering for all body types.

As black and white is huge for this season, it is nice to play with pattern to create contrast. When wearing solid clothing, try mixing in patterned accessories like a belt, shoes or watch/bracelet. If you are wearing printed clothing pair solid coloured shoes, and accessories to balance the look.
