I'm in love with Fall. Fall is a beautiful time of year, with changing leaves and stunning sunsets. There is a glow around the world that only happens for a short time as the weather changes. It is a transition from fun summer memories to holiday cheer. However, the best thing about fall is the layering of clothes, boots, and cold weather accessories that come with it.
Fur vests are my fav staple for F/W, they are timeless and versatile. Fur vests can be styled several ways, fur (real or faux) adds texture to any look.  Layer waist length vests over a dress or high waisted skirt for a day to dinner look. A longer vest works well with pants or leggings or over/under a jacket for a more casual look.  R…

Black and White is everywhere for FW 14. I wanted to create a dramatic black and white look with a pop of colour. The pop of orange was inspired by the gorgeous orange leaves scattered around the city.  The geometric design on this sheath dress is fun with the angled lines of concrete and iron railings throughout the park.
A great way to add pattern and/or colour to your wardrobe is with geometric prints. Geometrics create a timeless, contemporary look. Larger scale and small scale geometric patterns are available from several brands this season. We are seeing a lot of black and white patterns again this f/w. This one caught my eye as it incorporates the shades of orange as well.

A  contemporary landscaped park sits among the belt line in Calgary, AB.  Barb Scott Park is the home of Chinook Arc, a public art installation by Arizona based designers Joe O'Connell and Blessing Hancock. The park opened in 2014 in honour of late alderman, Barb Scott.
The interactive Chinook Arc sculpture is made from Acrylic and Steel, with colour changing LED lighting and touch sensors. Park visitors have the ability to change the light sequences by moving their arms or playing videos on their phone.
The artists were inspired by the Chinook arch occurrence and the Beltline Streetcar loop that is historic to the area. Chinook Arch is a beautiful phenomenon t…
