Waking up everyday to extraordinary architecture is a dream come true. The history and intricacy of these buildings from hundreds, even thousands of years ago is incredible.
An adventure to Lincolnshire, England led me to this stunning cathedral from Norman times. The original cathedral was completed in 1092. From 1311-1549 the Lincoln Cathedral was the tallest building in the world. The blockbuster film Da Vinci Code Was filmed in the Lincoln Cathedral in 2005. Other successful films have been filmed there as well including; Possession (2002), The Young Victoria (2009) and The Wind & the Willing (1962). 

The fashion photos were  taken in Castle Square, in front of Lincoln Castle. The 1000 year old architecture vs. contemporary fashion was my goal for this post. A casual menswear inspired look is perfect for comfortably running errands or going on adventures. We have been seeing androgynous fashion since Yves Saint Laurent made the style popular in the mid 60's, however menswear influences have become even more popular in womenswear in recent years. A classic collared shirt is a great layering piece, to be worn with dresses, sweaters, etc. This cream silk crepe collared shirt has a modern, feminine twist to it. I layered it under this mesh overlay crew neck sweatshirt for a more polished look. Sweatshirts have been a popular staple that is causal, and comfortable but can be paired with a collared shirt or necklace for a more styled look. Another menswear inspired wardrobe staple that has become a classic for both men and women is the slip-on shoe. Easy to wear for fall, spring and summer the slip-on is simple, comfortable (great for walking on cobblestones) and can be worn with a skirt, pants, shorts and jeans for a casual look. These United Nude slip-ons are the most unique pair I've found this season. The leather mixed with quilted satin fabric create an interesting texture that can be styled several different ways. 

Unfortunately, the interior Castle grounds are currently closed due to restoration - Looks like I will be making another trip down to Lincoln after it's reveal in April 2015.

After spending the past few years in the U.K., I have become a tea addict.  I drink approximately 2 cups of tea per day in the summer months, and 3-5 in the winter.
