Leather & Leopard

Leather and animal prints are both edgy and timeless. These design elements have been around forever, and will continue to be a staple from season to season. There is nothing more chic than leather details or neutral animal prints creating a rich look. The play of soft vs. hard textures for this look is a transition between the mild winter days and spring that is just around the corner. This city chic look is perfect for a hang out in this evolving downtown neighbourhood.

As I chase my leather brimmed hat down the streets of East Village, the 50 km gusts of wind do not phase me. The eye catching art scattered throughout EV is so vibrant and full of life. Mosaic murals by Ron Moppett span 34 meters, create a playful wall to enjoy amongst the concrete underpasses.
One of my favourite pieces is this intricate instillation running along the RiverWalk. The artists; Daniel Kirk, Kai Cabunoc-Boettcher and Ivan Ostapenko have done a fantastic job at  brightening up the area for all season enjoyment.

Stopping in the Simmons building for a coffee or lunch is a must. The juxtaposition between the refurbished historical building and futuristic St.Patricks Bridge creates a unique setting for the Calgary area.
Exciting things are progressing for EV, evolving the urban vibe of the inner city.
