Pink Tartan - Holiday & Resort 14 - Nordstrom
We had a great evening at Nordstrom for the presentation of the beautiful Pink Tartan Holiday and Resort 14 collection. The pieces were presented by President and Creative director, Kimberley Newport-Mimran. With a background in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing, she worked with Club Monaco and Hudson's Bay before founding the Canadian label, Pink Tartan in 2002. You may also be familiar with her husband - Canadian Designer Joe Mimran who launched both Club Monaco and Joe Fresh.
Newport-Mimran stayed true to the brands sophisticated sportswear feel with this collection. Each piece is constructed of gorgeous luxe fabrics with a timeless silhouette. The pieces can all be mixed and matched to create an unique/individual look.
My favourite pieces of this collection include the hand painted black and white silk dress, cream winter coat, and of course the fur collars. The stunning black and white A-Lined dress creates a bold statement. The hand painted fabric forms a modern look with a classic silhouette for any occasion.
The streamlined cream coat is a gorgeous wool/cashmere blend. Cream adds a fresh, cozy feel to any F/W wardrobe. The inverted lapel is sleek and works great with a variety of garments.
Fur collars are a classic winter staple. The luxurious collars are available in several colours to add fun sophistication to any look. They are great for adding texture to an outerwear piece, dresses or even a knit sweater. Most importantly - they add warmth in our cold Canadian winter.
